English Games for ESL Beginners — Free

Total beginner ESL students need games that don't punish them for not knowing the language yet. Emoji Hangman uses emoji as visual hints alongside each English word — so a student who doesn't read English can still play, learn, and feel success. Word lists start at the 100 most-common English words (table, water, school, run). Bright, friendly UI. Works on any device. Used by ESL teachers across South-East Asia and Latin America.

How it works

An emoji hint appears (🐶) along with empty letter slots representing the word (_ _ _). The student guesses letters one at a time. Correct letters fill the slots; wrong letters cost a try (6 max). When the word is complete, the next emoji + word appears. After 10 rounds, the score is shown. The emoji ensures even an absolute beginner can guess the meaning.
